Just curious, who says that they're going to be driving down the streets? It's not a parade as I understand it, it's a static display. They will tear the hell out of the pavement, dumb idea....
Can I just say? Tanks rolling down the National Mall - I wish I could see that. Send a few to Broadway in NYC and Hollywood Blvd in LA while you're at it.

I was at the parade after the Gulf War almost thirty years ago. Pretty sure they had tanks down Independence Avenue. Can I just say? Tanks rolling down the National Mall - I wish I could see that. Send a few to Broadway in NYC and Hollywood Blvd in LA while you're at it.

Do they have a different tread for such urban use? A few donuts may do some damage. No, they won't actually.. in fact if they leave them on the trucks the trucks will do 10 times more damage.
Oh, and am an actual former tanker/scout.
Metal tracks NEVER touch the pavement, unless they haven't been maintained properly. Each piece of track has two rubber pads about 3 inches thick and 18 by 12 inches.. with the number of track shoes.. the amount of ground contact on all the pads.. damage is VERY limited.Do they have a different tread for such urban use? Finally doing something about the dirt bike / ATV creatures.
