AOC Gets CAUGHT Not Paying Taxes

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat who represents New York in the United States House of Representatives, has been fined by the state of New York for evading tax warrants that were issued against the company she formerly owned five years ago.

According to a report in the Washington Examiner, the state issued a tax warrant against Brook Avenue Press, a publishing business geared toward children that Ocasio-Cortez created in 2012. The warrant sought to recover $1,618 in outstanding corporate taxes from Brook Avenue Press. As a result of the representative not paying the taxes, the cost of the tax warrant has escalated by 52 percent, coming in at $2,461.

Per the New York Department of Taxation and Finance, tax warrants are issued by the state of New York to firms who “fail to timely address” their debt and do not react to their notices, and the state will proceed with “additional collection action” if the businesses do not comply.

She could stroke a check for that amount, but notice that she doesn't.

Well, I get it. If it's a choice between paying outstanding taxes or getting my nails did for self-healing, the nails would win everytime.

Says the person who hasn't filed their annual report / personal property business taxes in two years.

Are you talking to me? We file all our business taxes and reports every year.

?

And even if we didn't, how the hell would you know?

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

It shows right there that all is needed is for them to file their annual reports for 2021 and 2022. It doesn't mean the business is somehow bad. It's just for the purposes of the State giving a slap on the wrist until they are filed. Not in Good Standing” means the business entity is not in compliance with one or more Maryland laws that apply to businesses and their responsibilities in this State." Also know as PAPER WORK. If, as with other business, they do fail to file, then the business name is forfeited.

Making a mountain out of a mole hill here.

Meh. We'd have gotten a notice by now if they hadn't received our property tax filing. They cashed the filing fee check, so I'm pretty sure we're good to go. I'll take their word for it over Clem-on-the-internet's.

It's interesting, though, that he took a fairly boring comment and used it to make an unrelated personal attack on me for no apparent reason. He must spend his life just seething with anger, laying awake at night thinking of ways to harsh my buzz. Not gonna work tho.
