My understanding is that they stop letting people adopt pets about two weeks before Christmas until after the New Year. All of the other pet centers do the same thing. They say it's because the holidays are not only stressful for people, but for new pets. They say that with all the decorations and tree lights, any pet could be frightened. Then they also say they stop them because, people get pets for Christmas and then realize they don't want it any more when the new year rings in. The best thing is to call them.
