Could you define awya please? Is that a foreign word or something?
Just out of curiosity - why would you point out someone's typos? He obviously made a typo - the meaning/intent of his word was easy to figure out.

It is hard to tell from reading this thread how many people actually think it is worth going to. We are going to attend because we feel we have tried everything else and so far it hasn't worked. We voted in the election. We write letters and e-mails and make the phone calls on the ridiculous bills that come up. So far none of that has seemed to matter. I don't know if getting together like this will make a difference either but I am willing to try. At least in the end I won't feel like I just sat back and watched it all collapse.

Same here! And I'm bringing my mom. Another good point is that it's a lovely day and Solomons should pull some people today. Maybe a few of them will walk up to ask what's going on and learn something....Can't hurt!

It's a mechanism that liberals like to use to draw attention away from the real issues.

Like focusing outrage at AIG's bonus's instead of AIG's political donations or the illegality of the bailout.

Oh, I think it's totally worth it. Doing something is better than doing nothing. Just like if you don't stand for something - you'll fall for anything! :buddies:

:yay: I agree! The more people gathering together- the more people will want to know why.

I expected as much.

Some suggestions from the “protest”:

Raise your hand if you’re a Vet.
Vote
Vote for me
Protest at Annapolis
Vote incumbents out
Send a tea bag (with no tea) to your rep
Give Money to (R)
Call your congressman
Shut down their voicemail

I left soon after. Did I miss anything?

I’m still waiting for the collective gasp from Washington and Wall Street from when the tea hits the river.

I wish I had tried to pick you out of the crowd.

It was a pretty big turnout. Much bigger than I thought it would be. You failed to mention the pledge and anthem where traffic even stopped. If nothing else, it was a symbol of Americans taking advantage of the freedoms we are offered.

Well, there's that problem.

If 4 people showed up on Solomons to protest the war, all the local networks would have sent a reporter and it would have made national news. Half a million people could show up for a protest against Leftist policies and....not a peep.

The power of the press.

Well, gee - he could have spoken up and protested the protest, if he really didn't think it was worth anything. I mean, he could have gone out on a limb or something & really stood up for something he believed in. Took a risk. You know, like our forefathers did.

:yay:

Getting a later start than I planned - I was arriving in the parking lot next to the pavillion when the National Anthem was playing. As I drove through, (finding no open spaces) I saw a man standing in the parking lot. Figuring what he was doing, I stopped & rolled down the window, asking the boys to SHHHH. Then I heard it. So I stayed where I was, too, until it was over.

We thought the rally was pretty cool. Especially throwing the symbolic tea into the river! I think one of those boxes even had somdrenter's rent money for this month in it.

Ah, I said suggestions. For the play by play:

(I missed the Pledge)
National Anthem
Raise your hand if you're a Vet
Cover Song
Read the Constitution (forgot, that was one of the suggestions)
Vote
Vote for me
Joke
Protest on Annapolis
Teleprompter joke
The poor vote (D)
Steny Hoyer is from St. Mary’s
Vote incumbents out
Teleprompter joke
Send a tea bag (with no tea) to your rep
No taxation without representation
Anecdotes from the Boston Tea Party
Change in 2010
Give money to (R)
Call your congressman
Shut down their voicemail

By then I’d had enough. I regret missing Larry speak.

I was there. It was neat to see all those people together who actually have the ability to see through the BS of BO. There was one couple there with Obama's photo on top of their baby's carraige. They didn't hang around very long.

My favorite sign was the one of Obama pizzing on the country. That sums it up without any words. Didn't see any real press there. There were probably a few from some of small papers though. I reall think we are going to have to give Obama more time to screw things up even more before the brainwashed Obama zombies will have the ability to see what is going on. Hopefully, it won't be too late.

Good turnout. Glad I went and took the kids. That was better than anything they will learn in public school all week.

The kids & I also got a kick out of checking out all the signs. There were some pretty cute ones. There were kids with signs, too. In fact, there were quite a few kids there. Even some colleged age kids. I think that's a very good thing.
