Well, apparently some 300 kids are "boycotting" the school (meaning they're cutting classes) in support of this teacher. I heard it on the news a few minutes ago. They "say" that the teacher DID present both sides of the argument.SamSpade said:I'm surprised they didn't suspend the *kid* for recording him.
Geography is much more than talking about maps:vraiblonde said:What I'd like to know is what Hitler, George Bush and capitalism have to do with geography, which is what this teacher was SUPPOSED to be teaching instead of giving his Leftist lectures.
Talking about George Bush and Capitalism fits into what he's SUPPOSED to be teaching.Geography is the description of the surface of the Earth, its life and culture.
That's Social Studies you're thinking of, dear.truby20 said:Talking about George Bush and Capitalism fits into what he's SUPPOSED to be teaching.
Ummm, because politics aren't religeon, duh.vraiblonde said:But if this teacher can teach his political views, why can't Christian teachers teach creationism?
Well it said the teacher taught HS, I personally didn't have a Social Studies course after Middle School. I did take Political Science as a senior and discussing the current president would make sense in that course but it would also make sense in a Geography course. In fact the disciplines are so closely related that many college have combined the departments:vraiblonde said:That's Social Studies you're thinking of, dear.![]()
And you think that makes it ok?AndyMarquisLIVE said:Oh please, teachers compare Bush to Hitler all the time.
