I think the Reps were crazy for kicking out George Santos. Until he's tried and convicted, he's still a Rep vote in a closely divided house. If he was a Dem, the Dem party wouldn't have kicked him out.

I agree voting for Hogan in hopes of winning majority is the choice right now for Republicans. Maybe he will get some votes from the Democrats. One never knows. He is definitely trying for their votes.

The people who say they won't vote for Larry Hogan because of who he is are welcome to that opinion. It's your vote and you can do whatever you want with it. But then don't blame republicans who say they won't vote for Trump because of who he is. They are simply doing the same thing.

The truth is that Trump can only enact his policies for the most part if he wins, and republicans carry both the house and senate. With Joe Mansion and Kristin Sinema out, if democrats keep the senate they will likely have no defectors meaning they will block every piece of legislation that republicans float. It also means they will not likely confirm any supreme court nominees brought forth by President Trump should he win, and they will fast track any supreme court nominees Biden would bring should he wins.

Larry Hogan may not be the best republican choice, but a vote for Alsobrooks is a vote against President Trump's agenda plain and simple.

If it won't be close - I wouldn't bother to vote for him, not that I would vote for Alsobrooks.

But - it will be close.

And the reason we have so much bullsht coming out of the Senate and getting SIGNED (if it passes the House) is because - the Dems decide what gets voted on. The House can propose stuff all day, and Schumer can rip it up and say oops. Sorry. WE run the Senate. When the Dems run the Senate, they can create a J6 committee and refuse all Republicans (except the ones they pick). They can rubber stamp SCOTUS picks by a Democrat President and block ones from a Republican.

YES, it's very important for a party to control the Senate EVEN IF not all of its members vote the same way. It means they are driving the car.
