Teen girls reportedly make pregnancy pact

They just don't have a clue.

GLOUCESTER, Massachusetts (AP) -- A pact made by a group of teens to get pregnant and raise their babies together is at least partly behind a sudden spike in pregnancies at Gloucester High School, school officials said.

Principal Joseph Sullivan told Time magazine in a story published Wednesday that the girls confessed to making the pact after the school began investigating a rise in pregnancies that has left 17 girls at the school carrying a child. Normally, there are about four pregnancies a year at the school.

Sullivan told Time that nearly half of the expecting students, none over 16, were involved. Sullivan said students were coming to the school clinic multiple times to get pregnancy tests, and "seemed more upset when they weren't pregnant than when they were."

The 24 year old homeless man, that's sad. The more I think about this the angrier I get. I feel so bad for all the babies, I just have a really hard time believing that these "little girls" are going to be able to take care of them.

I say sex ed classes should make kids take care of a screaming newborn for two weeks, then a grumpy 2 year old for 2 weeks. That should cure their desire to have a baby. :yay:

Yea, and they are going to try to charge this guy with statutory rape. I think he'd rather sit in jail for that than have to pay child support. I really would not want to be in any of those parents shoes right now.

Seriously! If these teens had my son for a day they would be crying to give him back!! He is MUCH better now but starting around 2 weeks he developed reflux and add that to the fact that he is a total drama queen--that is still true now. There would be days that he would seriously scream for 12-14 hours a day!! Heck he got me out of a speeding ticket with his screaming.

My oldest got me out of a ticket once too. I had hit a deer earlier in the day and was taking my car to drop it off to get fixed because the side mirror broke off. I was speeding and got stopped. My son told the cop "Mom had a bad day, sir. She killed someone and is getting her car fixed before we leave on vacation." I quickly told the cop that the "someone" was a deer and he laughed and told me that I was free to go.

This is so sad..I don't feel sorry for the baby mama's or daddy's I feel sorry for the child. Chances are they will end up in foster care because their 14 year old mom can't take care of them.

What does this mean for our future?

Exactly. But, who would give their baby up for this? Maybe they could use those thousands of babies that need homes.

I had an egg. I painted her pretty and gave her to her father. He put her in his locker and she fell. I went home and boiled another baby. I painted her the exact same. Passed the test.

 I don't know if using real babies would be possible. I swear I just heard BF say he saw a preview for a show (reality) where they give teens real babies.

They have those baby dolls though...the ones that cry and need "taken care of" just like real babies. You know the ones I mean? They log how long the baby cries, how long between meals, etc, so the teacher always knows how the student did taking care of it.

Actually there is a show coming on...next week maybe?
It's called the Baby Borrowers and they have teen couples (I think?) take a newborn for two weeks, then a toddler, then a teen, then I think an eldery person, each for two weeks.
I *know* one of the women whose baby is part of the show from another message board.

Yeah. I have seen those dolls. It's better than an egg but does not nearly come close to the real thing. I do think that all high schools should give them out to the boys and girls for a week. :yay:
