Teenage Babysitting Rates

What's the going hourly rate per kid for a 16/17 year old babysitter? We have one coming this weekend and she doesn't charge an hourly rate, just takes what you give her. I want to ensure that we're fair. :yay:

How old is she? I know it's somewhere around $5/hour.

I would say around $5 per hour for your 2, I assume this will be at night and at least one (if not both) of them will be asleep most of the time.

I charge $15 per kid per hour, and I don't clean or cook, and the kids need to be in bed when I arrive. And there must be an adequate supply of junk food and cold beer and fresh batteries in the remote control, and a cordless phone within easy reach.

Seriously, it's probably fair to say that $5.00 would be a good rate.

I complained when we had a sitter one night and all she did was talk on the phone and ordered me to do everything. My parents said "K will help if you need any help." She heard, "K will do everything and you don't have to do anything."

I am the oldest of 3 girls, my parents gave me a little something for watching them but never the going rate at the time. I think a $1.00 an hour and I had to clean.

When I was 16, I was waiting tables on the weekends, making real money. :yay:

I Pay $5 an hour per child. Alot of my girlfriends say I over pay, however, I am never without a babysitter. They are always available when I need them.

I could babysit for you, but I remind myself of Mrs. Kwan in the Cat in the Hat and there is no guarantee I can stay awake the entire time that you're gone.
