Telemarketers!?!?

In October of last year, people had the choice to register their number on a list so that they were not called by telemarketers. We did that and the calls stopped for a while. Now they are starting again. Eveyday I receive these calls. Does anyone know if you have to re-register again in order to stop this. I told one caller that I had registered and they should not be calling me and she said it did not apply to them. Is it true that this does not affect all telemarketers??

I thought they decided that the "list" and banning the calls was unconstitutional or something. Infringing on the business's rights? Some BS like that is what I heard at least...

bleh....

when they call you, just solicit them for phone sex, they leave you alone after a while. Hehe.

Or use the soundboards on www.ebaumsworld.com on them. Then they REALLY get pissed.

PS

I also heard some discussion at work that sometime in the next ?month? or so, they get access to the cell phone numbers as well. THAT will be fun.... using up people's minutes? Aw, hell no.

That can't be possible. Would the cell phone companies allow that knowing that people could stop using their services? Would they really risk that? I would get rid of my cell phone if that happened. I will not pay for telemarketers to call mine. I can't stand when they call. If I want a product, I will get it. I don't want someone calling , trying to push it on me.

It depends. If it's a service or something you already use I think they can still call you. The other thing depends on where the call originates; if it's not in the US then you're screwed. Some companies are moving their telemarketers out of the country.

Any time a business asks you for a phone number, if you have dial up at home, give them that number. If not, give them the phone number to the fax machine at work.

yeah, most of them are contracting it out from, of all places, India. Listen closely to the voices that you do talk to when you answer.

I haven't been having a problem with those folks every since I got on the "do not call" list, but if they're gonna change the rules again and I start getting 20 calls a night, the phone's gonna get unplugged.:banghead:
