Telephone Therapist

Has anyone on this forum EVER used a therrapist via telephone? If so, how is it? Dis you think it helped as much as going to a therapist? All relationships have issues and troubles, which include, of course, money, children, work and home. So sometimes when one wants to vent or try to find a way to work things out and the other partner does not seem to want to be there, not see eye to eye or compromise in situations, maybe it would be ok to talk to someone? I just do not feel it necessary to "go" and sit on a couch and spill out everything...

I can't imagine forging a relationship with a telephone therapist.....

It would be like calling Miss Cleo.

Maybe you don't need a therapist, but instead the ears of a friend or family member. It'll save you money, plus you'll feel better purging.

:yeahthat:

Besides, a huge portion of communication is reading and deciphering body language -- impossible to do over the phone. Telephone therapist would be about as good as posting things in these forums for discussion and we all know how that goes...

You'd have better luck with a webcam chat if you don't want to physically go to an "office".

I'm with Chasey & Kain here. Find a friendly ear, it'll help!

If you just need to purge, family or friends are great for that. But if you genuinely have a conflict that needs resolving, they aren't going to be objective enough for any real help - they'll just tell you what they think you want to hear.
