Testimonial Regarding Violation of Contract; Old Bay Remodeling

My contract for a kitchen remodel was with Old Bay Remodeling (MHIC #119037) on March 2, 2021. Old Bay delayed start of work until end of June. It's is now September 21st and the work is still not reached substantial completion. They installed poor quality, damaged cabinets and inflicted so much damage on the hard wood floors during demo that we are still determining if they can be saved or if they need to be replaced (which initially was told not to worry about it, that "Jerome will make you whole", but now the owner doesn't want to take responsibility due to the cost of the extensive damages. Stain was rubbed over gouges, but the gouges are so deep I was told by the field manager they can't be sanded down.) Old Bay never installed protection for floors, furniture or Zip walls as per the contract and have done irreparable damage to furniture and appliances. Construction dust has infiltrated my HVAC system and builds up on surfaces everyday. Poor communication and management systems caused the multiple crews and random workers sent out to make more mistakes than actually advance the work. Old Bay's contract stipulated that "when you work with us you have set deadlines to start and finish jobs, organized staff ready to answer any questions, set policies to keep your home clean and dust free during the project and a dedicated website where you log in to get all information about your project in one place". My experience is that none of those conditions were met, and I am extremely skeptical that several of them exist at all. Managers would scribble lists of tasks on scrap paper, frequently loosing it. I asked multiple times to see task lists in writing or digitized and the company refused. At one point no one showed up for 4 weeks, no one would respond to emails or texts until days or weeks later. Painting has been one mistake after another, from painting walls that were not part of the project and having to paint splatters and repainting molding to correct mistakes, even dripping and splattering paint on recently installed cellular shades. I have been without a functional kitchen for 19 weeks and the owner, Jerome Sarath, does not care. From the beginning there were consistent promises of being done in a couple days or we just need another two weeks, and more time never seems to bring resolution. Tasks were done out of order, leading to workers having to redo things 2-3 times. Multiple times workers did things that were not in the SOW and had to be corrected, and there were times when people were refusing to do things that were in the SOW only to do the wrong thing, then realize later that indeed the SOW did include the task. Cabinet sides faces and doors are consistently chipped and painted over with mismatched repair materials. Neither Old Bay or their cabinet manufacturer (Next Day Cabinets/Forevermark) want to take ownership of the flawed cabinets, but just want to pass it on to me at full cost to live with damaged cabinets. I flagged these issues back in June and consistently with multiple the multiple managers that cycled through my home throughout the process, but my input was minimized at every turn. House keys have been lost and not returned. Please avoid this company for your own protection. The owner does not set crews up for success, sources poor quality components, and does not take responsibility for mistakes and damages. It's not customer centric at all. Things seem friendly and functional at first but things 159447 159447 159448 quickly devolve as assurances turn into lies and mistakes compound. Please see photos and be ware.

First question why did you keep allowing them to do work?
Why are you posting this here? Have you filed with The Maryland Home Improvement Commission?
Thats one of the things they are there for...
