Olive Garden loses its spot as top US casual dining restaurant after 7 years: report

Olive Garden spent seven years as America's top fast casual chain, but a resurgence in Texas Roadhouse's popularity pushed the steakhouse chain ahead of its Italian-style competitor.

Texas Roadhouse has replaced Olive Garden as America’s top casual dining chain. The two chains were followed by Chili’s, Applebee’s and Buffalo Wild Wings. Olive Garden had held the title since 2018, but a resurgence in Texas Roadhouse’s popularity has pushed the casual steakhouse ahead.

I went to visit my son who had just moved to Texas. Asked him where to get good BBQ and he said, "Texas Roadhouse has the best ribs." I had never heard of it before, so off we went. It was good, but clearly a chain. In Texas. Where you can't swing a dead cat without hitting excellent pit BBQ.



The next night Larry and my son's friend went off in search of real BBQ and came back with this amazing feast. My son hasn't been back to Texas Roadhouse since.

As chains go, Texas Roadhouse is the best now..but just like others, that will change as they decide that money is more important than quality.

They were tasty, but what was great is they had some meat on them. Some places serve ribs that are mainly bone with BBQ sauce on them./

They were a special the Saturday before last.

Same food, same service at ALL TR's no matter where you go. Excellent I love it. Skins, fries (and they have brown gravy) and ribeye steak. Oh yeah, chili is terrific too.

Kind of like what happened with chicken wings.

I for one dont like rib's that much Ill taken chicken or steak before ribs any day of the week most rib's are covered in some type of sauce to mask the taste

The ones at Uncle D's are smoked, then you add your own sauce.

The Chili at Wendy's is good for me. I tried the Chili at Texas Roadhouse and found it not so good.
