Texas Teen Hurt After Bringing Anti-Illegal Sign

A teenager who took a sign reading "If you love our nation, stop illegal immigration" to school said she was hurt after being swarmed by angry classmates, and administrators said Tuesday they have suspended three students involved in the scuffle.

"It's disappointing that it happened," Athens school district superintendent Fred Hayes said. "It does not surprise me with the political nature of this issue."

Melanie Bowers, 13, brought the sign to Athens Middle School on Friday as part of a class project on political activism. Each child was assigned to pick an issue and prepare a poster supporting a position. LINK​

Sarah Anne brought in an essay on the evils of Slavery and a riot erupted in Mrs Clemmens 1-room school house in Port Tobacco.

It was resolved by following the example of the US congress and agreeing to a Gag rule.
"Its the best way to keep the peace" school board member John Hennesy commented.

The Charles County School board issued a statement last evening:"We are certain that compromise and cooler heads will prevail and the issue will be peacefully resolved for everyone's satisfaction."

Jack Raley was asked to remain out of school until the Tobacco has been set in.

Sarah was encouraged to write an essay on the importance of Temperance as a replacement for her project.

Mr. Hayes' response is actually a bit unnerving seeing as it was one of his employees who assigned the project to Miss Bowers!!

This is akin to having student get into head-on collisions without seat belts to teach them the affects of inertia.​

It wasn't the socialist teachers so much as her illegal alien classmates. It's Texas so you can bet a good share of them crept across the border one dark night with their illegal parents. They are still waiting for the other hundred or so of their closest relatives to join them so they can all live together in a 2 bedroom appt.

I will admit I can be what you guys like to call the "L word" at times, but I've always known that illegal is, well, illegal! I had a co-worker from Columbia who waited to become a legal citizen in the U.S. It irritated her to think that illegal immigrants seemed to think they could just step in front of everyone waiting in line.
