Strung Out
...for doing what needed doing; reminding people that it's just football. It's just a bunch of grown men paid to beat the crap out of one another as part of a game, a pseudo gladiator sport that the people like to see.
It's not teaching. It's not medicine. It's not even law. It's just a bunch of rich guys who focus on owning and trading players, hiring and firing coaches and going about the fun and profit of operating a protected team in a protected league with enormous public support WAY beyond any socially redeeming quality other than promoting beer, car and food sales with the occasional nod to a stylish social issues of some kind or other.
The way Goodell handles his job, from consistently treating beating women like they're just footballs to treating a football issue like it is beating the crap out of a woman could ONLY be accomplished by people engaged in something that is just football. No more, no less.
I consider him to be doing a great community service by his actions to provide us with repeated opportunities to keep that in mind. I resist any and all efforts to oust him based on integrity of the game issues. He IS integrity of this game.
