This past week, my son came home from a 1 yr tour in Afghanistan. Thursday night, he took us to dinner over in Solomon's Island. he wore his dress uniform. In the restaurant, people were smiling at him, and 1 older couple actually thanked him, and shook his hand. I'm retired Navy, and never had anyone do anything near that. My son was embaressed, but my wife and i were never more proud..

Husband saw a gentleman from the 101st airborne (e company, 506th reg) (band of brothers). this weekend. Didn't realize who he was until he left......he had been over talking to another younger gentleman (a gentleman in uniform) and when he left the younger man told him "Thank you for all that did for all of us" to which the older gentleman from the 101st turned around and said "No, Thank you for all that do now"

Husband said it was very moving.
