Our Federal government is $12,000 and our state is $6,000 more wealthy than yesterday. This isn't counting property tax, sales tax, fuel tax, usage tax, line tax, medicare, FICA cigarette tax and all the other nit noid taxes they slip in we rarely notice.

No need to thank me, it is the least I could do. :yay:

In addition our government wont have to waste time and money giving me the tax rebate. I ran the calculator and I am due a big fat $0.

Unfortunately, I feel your pain. To say I was shocked after getting my taxes done a couple of weeks ago is an understatement. As I left I felt like someone took a few good punches at me and practically knocked me flat on my azz. I guess this means no rebate for me either, huh? Gotta love Uncle Sam! :eyebrow:

But wait, there's more...
Hundreds of welfare recipients will log on via the DSL you paid for them to thank you later. :yay:

I have a funny feeling that in a few days I'm going to have my pockets cleaned out, too. Should be hearing any day now. Ugh.

Yeah, what else is new? Then they'll say that they should get a higher rebate check because the don't have jobs and need more money! Must be nice to live off of everyone else's hard earned money. Not that I'm bitter, of course!!! :killingme

This is...

You must make lots of money.

...exactly why NO ONE should discuss what they make in terms of their gross;

"Oh, I make $50/$75/100/500k a year!" Oooh! Ahh!

What we make is what we take home and then we choose to spend however much we choose to spend.

I'm telling you people; eliminate withholding and that is one giant step towards a civically responsible citizenry.

Each day that goes by, as more and more "less fortunate" people have more and more "luxury" items and the ability to enjoy them, it has me wondering how truly "less fortunate" or challenged they are. I know I'm cynical, but if you can master surfing the web, you can master flipping burgers at McD's. :ohwell:

Nothing cynical about what you said. It's the truth. When they're driving around in their Bentleys and I'm driving around in my Jeep, I have a problem with that. Do they pay taxes on their welfare checks?

Fair Tax!!

Those people on welfare would pay MORE taxes on the Bentley than you would on the jeep!! That's FAIR.

Yea that sucks. There are those with disabilities and what not that do require a generous society. The problem is the abuse.

The real criminals in all this are those "enlightened" rat bastards in congress who spend our money willy nilly on stupid shiat the media drums up sympathy for. Take the Senate Foreclosure Prevention Act they just passed. The media has a field day producing story after story about poor John and Sally who did the epically stupid thing by buying a $700,000 house on their $100,000 combined income.

Everyone weeps, it is sad, our hearts break, Tommy can't go to Summer camp, Susy has to rent a used clarinet for band camp and they are on the brink of losing their 4,500 sq ft. McMansion and move back into a 2200 sq ft house they can afford. Sooooooo our elected representatives sit in a big circle and dream up a plan that involves spending $150B, that is 150,000 million dollar bills to me and you, on a groundbreaking program that provides pre-foreclosure counseling, and more rigid loan disclosure. :bigwhoop:
