Stacey Abrams Calls Georgia The ‘Worst State In the Country’ As She Runs For Governor

The Democrat, who is hurtling toward a rematch with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who defeated her four years ago in an election she never conceded, made the shocking statement Saturday night at the Gwinnett Democrats’ Bluetopia Gala in Norcross. The two are expected to emerge as their parties’ candidates after Tuesday’s primary.

“I am tired of hearing about how we’re the best state in the country to do business when we are the worst state in the country to live,” Abrams told the Peach State party faithful.

“Let me contextualize,” Abrams said. “When you’re No. 48 for mental health, when we’re No. 1 for maternal mortality, when you have an incarceration rate that is on the rise and wages are on the decline, then you are not the No. 1 place to live.”

If they elect Abrams, they WILL be the worst State in the country to live in and hey will be guilty of making it so.
Well, wasn't Georgia one of those states where absentee ballot drop box stuffing took place? If I were a bookie at one of those "legalized" betting parlors or casinos, I'd have to give 2.5-1 odds that she might actually win because of that ballot stuffing, that apparently never happened, in the most secure election in the history of the United States in 2020.

This was an extremely bad choice of words for her, since she was clearly TRYING to make a case that the current Republican governor - in her opinion - has driven Georgia into the 'worst' column. This was her idiotic way of saying " he made it so bad, but I am going to make it better".

I think this is one of those situations where she went home and thought "that REALLY sounded better in my head".

It sounded just fine to the Abrams voter. She knows her constituency and her voter base.
Hopefully Georgia has enough intelligent voters to once again say no to her run.

Sure it did. Imagine if a governor were running here, in Maryland, and all they were saying was how bad the business climate was, or how bad the schools were -

Well, yeah. Agreed. And it will take a governor determined to CHANGE that. I see that she was angling at that, but it sure sounded like she didn't like it there.

Well with 57.5% republican seats in their House of Representatives and 56% in the Senate, I don't think she'd be able to get anything accomplished anyway.

I have to think that if you dig deep enough that every state in the US is last or first in some sort of negative category. #49 for drivers not making illegal right on red turns. #1 state for number of errors convenience store clerks make while giving you back your change.

Most of the time in this country when you drive from 1 state to the next, other than the welcome center, you hardly know you crossed any imaginary boundry. Now just for grins, go to El Paso Texas and head south to Jaurez. You will have a Ho Lee Chit moment when you suddenly find yourself in the 2nd & 1/2 world. And when you get there, don't drink the water.

To be fair, Brownsville area right next to the border crossing is a third world shithole and it's still technically in the US.

But yeah, driving over that bridge from El Paso to Juarez was mindboggling.

Going across the border it is easy to understand why they all want to come here.
\But then , there are cities in this United States where entering the death zone is not too far from it.

Georgia voters condemn Stacey Abrams ‘worst state’ comments, share top priorities ahead of primary election

Stacey Abrams faces criticism from Georgia voters following 'worst state' comments

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Stacey Abrams comments that Georgia is the "worst state in the country to live" did not sit well with voters who spoke with Fox News ahead of Tuesday's primary election.

"Why does she think it’s the worst? Because she didn’t win the last election, I guess," Larry, from Lawrenceville, said.

Brittany, who recently moved to Atlanta from Chicago, also disagreed with Abrams' assessment.

"I like that it’s a lot of Black people supporting Black people," Brittany said. "I wouldn’t say it’s the worst place to live in."

She said Chicago "is a lot more expensive and a lot more dangerous to live in."

"Do you care about safety and your kids or do you care about stuff that’s not none of your business?" Brittany added.

Nancy, from Lawrenceville, said the economy is her top priority heading into the polls Tuesday.

Larry told Fox News: "Immigration’s one of the big ones. Price of gas is a really big one."

Bob from Gainesville, Georgia, said "competence" is important to him.
