The Best Thing I Ever Ate

I made some Blueberry Bread last night. Not Blueberry Muffins, but Blueberry Bread. It was the best thing that I have ever made, and the best thing that I've ever eaten. Truly.

I got the recipe from the King Arthur Flour web site. Dante's Blueberry Bread: King Arthur Flour . You should try it, you will definitely not be disappointed. And if you are, just give me the Blueberry Bread, and I'll eat it for you.

As a side note, the recipe calls for something that most people won't have in their normal pantry. It is Fiori di Sicilia - 1 oz. . I just used 1/2 teaspoon vanilla plus 1/2 teaspoon of orange extract in place of the fiord-Di-Sicilian, and the substitution worked out beautifully.

The bread was moist, not too sweet, and jamma packed with fresh blueberries.

I dare you to try it. If you don't like it, then you just aren't an American. :patriot:

I love the King Arthur website. I've been playing with some of their sourdough recipes and am digging them. I'll have to look into this. :buddies:

I was up in their neck of the woods last week and stopped by their store in Vermont. Oh, Lawd, that was a euphoric experience! I picked up some goodies and I can't wait to use them all. :yay:

So, Bob, how's that low carb diet working out for you?

Sounds good but it would take me a year to eat a whole loaf of blueberry bread. If I get a wild hair and think I need to bake, I'll keep a few slices and drop the rest off to you.

I'm thinking blueberry french toast would be a good place to start with any leftover bread..

If you insist on dropping the rest of the load off to me, I certainly wouldn't stop you.

But I Double-Dog Dare you to not eat the entire loaf. Unless you ripped off your taste buds from your tongue (is that even possible?!?!?!?), you WILL heartily and enthusiastically eat the whole thing.

And Bob didn't even have one bite. I took it to work and those folks scarfed it down.

That looks/sounds delish! I think even my ridiculously picky 4 year old would pig that down. I'll definitely be making this soon.
