The Brett got fined

Brett Favre fined for not cooperating in sexting probe - ESPN

The NFL has fined Brett Favre $50,000 for a "failure to cooperate" with the investigation into allegations he sent inappropriate messages and lewd photos to a former New York Jets game-day hostess.

The league says Commissioner Roger Goodell "could not conclude" that Favre violated the league's personal conduct policy based on the evidence currently available.

It takes chutzpah to fine the Brett.

They're out to get us
I think it's time for him to say #### you and retire, then dare them to collect.

Maybe they'll get really tough and suspend him. :killingme

That would be okay as long as it wasn't a lifetime suspension.

Now that it seems likely that the Brett's playing career is over, we - the remaining adherents of Brettianity - have but one dream left to cling to...

It was a clear chilly evening, just outside of Washington, D.C., in early February, 2028. The improbable playoff run of the wildcard Hattiesburg Golden Eagles, the NFL's newest expansion team, had culminated in their facing the assumed-to-be-unbeatable New England Patriots in Super Bowl LXIII. The Patriots, led by their 5th year head coach Tom Brady, were coming off their 3rd consecutive undefeated regular season, and looking to become the first team in NFL history to win 4 consecutive Super Bowls.

Just before half time, the Golden Eagle's brash young quarterback, Billy Hooper, went down with what looked to be a season ending knee injury. Having fallen behind 27-3, even with the strong armed and fearless leadership of their superstar in the making, hopes for a miraculous victory, and a fitting end to their storybook season, looked bleak. Asked by Jenn Sterger, NBC's once-uber-hot but now aging sideline reporter, what his team might be able to do to get back in the game in the second half, the Golden Eagles head coach, 3-time NFL MVP Brett Favre, seemed to be at a loss for answers. "I'm just gonna tell my guys to go back out there and have some fun, that's all we can do, we'll just have to see what happens - hey, whatchu doin after the game," said the 59 year old as he gimped off toward the locker room.

But, for all of us familiar with the Saga that had always been Brett Favre - who had witnessed his countless heroic efforts on the gridiron - who had watched his stubborn refusal to leave the game behind - who had lived through his endless waffling and mind-changing, including that brief period in August of 2014 when he had all of us convinced, and some of us excited, that he was going to return for one more shot at glory more than 3-1/2 years after he had taken his last NFL snap with the Minnesota Vikings - could any of us really have been surprised when, jogging out from the FedEx Field tunnel came... yes... that grey bearded legend himself, wearing that oh so familiar number 4, in those not so familiar Golden Eagle colors ...
