Fantastic...thanks!! Hopefully I plan to be up there next week if I don't get called to San Antonio or Reno:(

I hated to do it but this one didn't make it..after the bite he had to go. It skimmed the boot first and barely broke the skin:shocking::shocking:The small ones are lightening fast unfortunately...and they are everywhere, under decks, patio furniture...everywhere.

I'm in the boonies east of San Antonio and walk my property daily in a continual quest to eradicate fire ants from my property. I've not seen a snake yet but I've killed 2 scorpions in my living room :jameo: Where are you at that there are so many snakes? I've got goats on my pastures right now, the previous owner, whom I allow to keep the goats here, said they keep the snakes minimized but I doubt that very much. Guess I'd better get some boots....

Fire ants...grrrrrr!
I'm in Kingwood, NE of Houston..."most" of the time snakes will be gone by the time you get within 15 feet...the large Rat, Pine and Moccasin snakes that get 5 to 6 feet or longer I always have to chase down to catch but the copperheads always seem to just sit quietly coiled until your right there. This guy...I didn't have a chance he blended perfectly waited until my foot was within inches...and struck 3 times before I could get a swing at him, little bugger!
Scorpions????? The "S" word...I haaaaaaate scorpions!! I still have the one I found...in the freezer:whistle:

That's ok.

The only good snake is a dead snake.

Hubby thinks I'm too paranoid about snakes/spiders/ants but I've got 1 and 2 year olds who crash around like lunatics outside. They've already both had run ins with the damn fire ants, there is no way to avoid occasional bites down here. At least those aren't life threatening and neither are the scorpions. I can't imagine throwing the baby in the car and driving 20 miles to the nearest medical center because of a snakebite! :yikes:
