Anyone seen or tried these?
Cinch Chix, LLC - The Cinch Products -

I just ordered one (only one) and hope it will work - we have a mare in for breeding and I think she rips the hay out just so she can sleep on it :frown:
I'm having to muck their run in every day and forking out a TON of wet poopy stuff and it's still green.... :dead:
There seems to be decent reviews on these it reducing waste and making the hay last longer.

Big Bale Buddy Review AlpacaBytes : Profit from breeding quality alpaca fiber.

Lasting 7 days with 5 horses according to this blog! Appy I think this one will work and will cost you less to purchase with the style feeder you use.

I wouldn't be able to use this type in my O'Niel Round bale feeders because they only open from the top, but the wooden feeders I use in the run-ins would work so I'm going to call R&D Cross to see if they carry them in stock.

I'll post pix later of how the Cinch Sak is working. I'm astounded at the amount of hay that is being preserved with this thing. The negative seems to be that it limits the amount of hay they actually eat with the home made wooden type of feeder I've got it in, so I'd have to watch their weight if i continued to use it in this feeder. I'll be moving it to one of the O'Niel style feeders in another field for the next bale and will use one of the big bale buddies in the home made wooden type feeder.

Anyways......I've only been using the cinch sak since Monday (for 5 days) but previously the entire bale would be out of the feeder by now with roughly 30-35% wasted and so far the waste is non-existent AND there is almost 3/4 of the bale left so I'm super pleased with how well it's working!!

The place I'm interning at uses these for a broodmare who has cribbing problems, it works pretty well, horse (and foal) wont get their feet caught in it.

Also R&D Cross of Brandywine isn't open on sundays, only Upper Marlboro... and unless brandywine got these in after i left for my internship, i doubt they have any in stock...

Ok...some feed back now. Here are some pix of the Cinch Net:
The Cinch Net August 1, 2011 | Facebook

I've ordered 2 and am ordering a third today. I LOVE THEM!! No doubt about it. You need a round bale feeder of some type to put them in - and we're using 2 different types to contain the hay - one home made, one not - both are in the pictures.

I'll be also ordering one for small square bales. They recommend you put a full bale in it, and put the whole thing into tub of some sort so they can eat everything. If it works as well as the big one, I'll be a VERY happy camper.

The big bale buddy trial I did didn't really do it justice, so I'm not quite ready to share that one yet. I'll be putting it into a feeder in a run in, to try it that way, more on it later.

I did have one issue with my second order (I ordered 2 last monday) they forgot to mail them until we called. :tantrum which meant i had paid on Monday for 2, and they didn't arrive until the following saturday. Their price includes priority mail shipping so it shipped on Thursday and arrived at the Post ofc saturday. I'll be CALLING my next order in.

You had a great idea...using a 50 gallon drum to stuff the bale sized ones full of hay from the round bale! Did you get a rubbermaid tub to put it into?

I use the 55 gallon plastic drum...Cathy is getting me one or two more..they work GREAT. I take the net and fold it over the top opened up..stuff it full stand on it jump etc then just cinch it up and pull it out (tad bit of work lol) and feed..keep one full and ready to feed and keep one out to feed....Round bales are looking good too...may have some pics will look
