The County fair

The county fair this year semd to have been a great success. The parking lot stayed full most times and when i went in saturday there was a crowd. The parade was fun but the polish sausage was a bit pricey at $6.00.

It sems the only problem was Friday night when a few of the local thugs decided to raise hell in the same way that canceled the Leonardtown Carnival.

I think they got a big surprise at the rapidity of the response from St. mary's finest.

Other than that I thought it was an exceptional fair and I thank those that put in so much work to make it so. Maybe you should think of purchasing another field for parking.

I enjoyed the fair, but agree with the $6 sausages being a little exorbitant.. But it seems Leeny's has a monopoly on the fair food.. You want a sausage you pay Lenny's price or go without.

Think they should expand the fairgrounds, really isn't much there considereing how big the county is.. i walked through all the commercial buildings and didn't buy or fill out a card for ANYTHING. .NOTHING there caught my eye, or my interest. (except John Deere)

The only thing that changes from year to year is the prices and the nasty rude people. They both multiply.

I have to agree. I ventured for the first time in years into the midway with some friends and their kids today. The absolute rudeness of quite a few people there was amazing and intolerable.

I personally enjoyed watching all the idiots in St. Mary's county hanging out of car windows, running over a bumper that somebody lost, cussing and fighting over parking spots, what a grand night it was Saturday!

Pookieboo!!!
St. Mary's isn't what it used to be. The people (or should I say people that moved to the area) have changed a lot.

Sunday on the last ride of the night, I had to yell and raise my voice to the kids in the back seat on the pirate boat ride. They were noisy and cussing and sitting between my 2 kids. That was the only problem I had for being there Sat/Sun. Other then that kids and I had a grand time!!!!!

Cheeseburgers and the boardwalk funs were good good good!!!!!

Don't be too smug. A fair share of the local kids are pretty freaky, too.

county fair

I have found that after about 9th grade the fair isn't fun anymore. I always have enjoyed the oyster festival.

I try to go on Thursday afternoon just to walk around and have some good ole fair food. But I do like the Oyster Festival better as I get older.

And FYI, dont walk too close to the cows in the livestock area...you might get pooed on and the ones with calves are rather protective.... :ohwell:

This is what "tolerance" gets you. When you tolerate bullchit, the punks press more crappy behavior until you have crap like this going on, then it is too late.

Barney Fife would nip it in the bud early so we don't have Code 13's every month.

Me too, other then a lack of vendors, I thought it was pretty cool. Hell, we spent like 5 hours there, so there must of been SOMETHING to do..

I saw your little princess with R. I was gonna go up and talk to her, but I didn't have Bubba with me at the moment; I knew she had no interest in talking to me, she just wants my kid.

Hey, we saw T on Friday, and she looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

I've grown up going to fairs. I guess I'm acclimated to the variety of people that attend. As for the prices for food...that keeps me on the diet du jour :lmao:

I talked to some of the local politicians, who were discussing showing up at the oyster Festival. One of the comments was that it was a wast of time, because not many county voters go to the oyster festival. The comment was made that countians can find good oysters cheaper in the local restaurants than they can at the festival. Again it seems the food prices have priced countians away from the oyster festival.

I know for my part they had me pegged. I can eat at Captain Leonards cheaper, and I get served.
