War on appliances continues as Biden admin releases new rules for dishwashers

The Department of Energy says the new limits are part of Biden's climate agenda

The Department of Energy proposed new appliance rules that would cut water and energy use limits for Americans' dishwashers well below current levels.

The proposal would limit dishwashers to using 3.2 gallons of water per cycle, far below the current federal limit of 5 gallons. The rules would also require manufacturers to reduce their products' energy consumption by nearly 30%.

Most dishwashers on the market are already well below the federal standard of 5 gallons, with most using 3.5 gallons per cycle or less.

How come Biden doesn't work on a plan to 'require manufacturers to reduce their product's energy COSTS by nearly 30%?" As in, make the electric companies find a way to stop financially raping people.

Yep. Saw this, this morning. They weren't happy with gas stoves, now they're after your dishwasher.

Some years ago, they insisted on low flow toilets. To save water. Great. Now we have to flush twice.

I guess the part that annoys me is, the government intervention. Manufacturers can ALWAYS make more efficient designs.
What's wrong with letting them, and let the public choose?

A drop in the bucket compared to car washes, lawn and garden watering, swimming pools (private and municipal), and on and on. They choose to ignore the big users and focus on the insignificant because they can't control the big users, but can impose their will on the homeowner.

I grew up on the Canadian border. When they implemented low flow toilets here in the states there was a whole new smuggling commodity coming across the border.
