The Furminator

I just got the Furminator! gonna go try it out on crazy chow dog! lets see this should take @ 10 hours...:killingme

Big shedding fur ball!

Not bad! but I think you can get the same results with a shedding blade, but because this is 4" wide you can get into the nooks and crannies better!

:killingme I'll let ya know more in the morning... would be nice not to wake up to black tumbleweeds all over the carpet!

Ya see what I am up against? He looks like he lost 20 lbs now lol

Same with my Malamute. When I had picked her up from the kennel last week, they had groomed her. She was in the middle of her blowing season so it was a dramatic difference. I didn't even know they were going to groom her. Nice surprise as it normally takes weeks to get her completely combed out. Yours is a beautiful dog, btw. What kind is it?

Almost as hairy as my beast. :lmao: Let me know if you have the tumbleweeds...I say I live in a fur globe instead of a snow globe.

My Lab is the same, when I rake her, she has tumbleweeds blowing across the yard. She sheds all year long. I love the rake and so does she.

I love love love love love my furminator. Whenever I think Bella is looking tubby I give her a good brushing and she loses 10lbs! Watch it on sensitive areas though as it does seem to aggrevate my little short legged girl!

I put that on my Christmas list for myself  I am almost positive that it's what the kennel used on my dog a few weeks ago when they unexpectedly groomed her. The ad with the dog laying amongst all the hair is the same as the printed ad at the kennel. If it is the same tool, it works miracles on dogs. I'm hoping brushing her out with this will make the task a heck of a lot easier than how I had been doing it.

I worked as a groomer at PetSmart briefly and I know they use it there so I wouldnt be suprised if your groomer used it. Gets out triple the hair in half the time!

Probably. I wasn't expecting them to groom her and when I took her in, she was still blowing her coat and when I returned, she was groomed and looked about 20lbs lighter. I guess they felt sorry for her because she was looking pretty lumpy from me combing her out.

For those who have it...

do you need to buy the shampoo too or does the tool alone do the job well enough? I don't think I could bathe my dog if you paid me. I was just planning on having her outside and using the tool so all the hair would be outside instead of inside.

Normally, I put the hair in a plastic bag as she's known to eat her own hair. :barf::doggiehairball: Do you happen to sell it at PPP? I told my hubby about it and he reminded me that my birthday is coming up soon and he'd (meaning I'd buy it and wrap it and he puts it in my hand) get it for me.

Beautiful dog! He is definitely a hairy monster...I thought my dogs shed alot (G.S.), they don't have anywhere near the hair that yours does! Is he a chow mix?

I've never used the shampoo personally. Honestly, I don't think that matters too much. In reference to bathing your dog, you couldnt pay me to bathe him either!! haha. He is quite the looker though!
