This is the story of John “Chickie” Donohue, a merchant marine from New York City who snuck into the war zone in Vietnam in the ’60s to deliver beer to his three enlisted buddies from back home. He and his buddies are true New York City ball-busters, thick accents and all. By bull####ting various people around the military, he managed to make it into a combat zone to surprise his neighborhood friends with warm beer.
