The Historic Powhatan Resort

We stay there fairly frequently. Exactly what are you wanting to know. It's about 5 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg. A shopping center is just a couple of minutes away. It has a full kitchen. First floor has a hot tub. Units are spacious. We've only had problems with parking on New Years Eve. It's not on the main drag with all the tourist traps.

Ask any questions and I'll be happy to try an answer them.

I always like to read the reviews on tripadvisor.com before I chose my resort/hotel... this site will also give you good info on the resturants, attractions, and entertainment in the areas you plan to visit.

I remember sitting through the sales pitch when this place was brand new and they were selling units. Reading through some of the reviews though, I'm glad we didn't bow to the pressure.

Awesome place to stay. We got a 3 story townhome with a hot tub for 99 a night in February, this was back in 2009. Wish we would have stayed longer.

Thanks alot! we got a 2 bedroom condo - sounds nice.. just wanted to make sure it was more of a clean type place.. read some mixed reviews. Wifi? And they sell tickets to some of the parks and such around? Thanks for all the info.

WiFi.....yes, it's there. I'm not sure for people paying to stay there if it's free. I have an upper membership so it's free but I know those with lower membership have to pay a fee.

Discount tickets, I think so but check into Parks and Recs locally.

When you sign up for free Wi-Fi, be aware that only one unit can log on for free each day you're there. If you have a computer, smart phone, and MP4 player logged on, you've used up three days of free Wi-Fi. Every log on after you use up your quota will cost you.

Nice thing about Powhatan Resort is the indoor pool for winter swimming. Outdoor pool OK for summer but lap swimmers who want to keep it up in winter have the advantage of the indoor pool. Check out the menu at the small kitchen restaurant. Steep prices, nice ambiance.

First thing to do when you arrive (if you have a ground floor Jacuzzi unit) is to check the unit and make sure the temperature is turned up (they turn them down when guests leave). Otherwise you'll take a cold Jacuzzi.

Stop at the Baker's Crust on Monticello for dinner at least once.
