Most definitely a kegerator and good beer.

And friends to help you drink! No home bar is complete without friends :yay:

We put one in a couple of years ago, hired out to do the whole downstairs. It came out real nice. Under the bar keg fridge (Yuengling on tap, mostly). Had lots more visitors since then...big surprise! :lmao:

If you have a keg and lines with a CO2 bottle, you'll need to keep them clean. I clean them out after each keg normally. Lots of things you can get on E-Bay (a bottle to hold your solution that cleans lines, don't skimp on that (cheap ones leak and make a mess).

Good luck with it. :yay:

The big bar is coming in a couple of years. I have a 1790 sq ft basement which = big $$ to finish it out even though I'm doing the majority of the work. Right now I am looking for suggestions for stock items to keep around for entertaining guests. Most of my neighbors are anxiously waiting for our 1st "real" party and open house and I have to provide refreshments.:buddies:

VV summed it up pretty good on regular stock items, kom. Good to get a drink recipe book so you're prepared for your visitors' mixed drink requests, so you have all you need on hand. I'm not much of a mixologist at all, but having the basic recipes are good to have on hand. Ice bucket (or two) with tongs is a nice touch, too.

For some reason, it's always good to have extra cork screws. They have a habit of getting legs and moving all over the house and yard when we have a lot of people over. If you have a keg, put someone in charge of keeping a pitcher full. The host can only do so much! Plastic everything if you have a pool.

When you're starting to think about the bigger bar project, let me know. Lots of things to think about, depending on what you want from your bar. I can offer a few lessons learned from our project.

Liquor wise it's best to start with vodka, rum, gin. bourbon & tequila. I would also have a white wine, a white zin. & a merlot,or cabernet on hand. Spite, G/A, coke & diet coke, club soda, tonic water, lemons, limes, swizels, straws, cocktail napkins, olives, cherries. etc...... The list just goes on and on.:buddies:
