The last flag stop railroad line

This is an experience for the truly adventurous. Ride a wilderness train. Get off anywhere along the 115 mile route. Go into the wild Alaskan backcountry. Go back out to the railroad tracks and flag down the train for your ride back. Bear repellant not included in the fare.

Ride one of America's last flag stop trains! The Hurricane Turn Train has delivered Alaska locals to their remote cabins since 1923. On this wilderness run, get off the train anywhere along the 55-mile stretch: hike, fish, or journey to a remote cabin. When you are ready to return to civilization, you can stop the train on its return with the wave of a flag. Or stay on for the entire route for a one-of-a- kind day trip.
The Summer Hurricane Turn Train departs from Talkeetna. From there, the 115-mile route threads its way along the Susitna River and through the Indian River Canyon before arriving to the spectacular views of Hurricane Gulch.

In my dreams.

I need to lose 50 pounds and see if the apnea goes away enough to dry camp. What an adventure that would be!

Right that. Saw that train on one of those Alaska shows. Hurry up and wait, but what a trip it would be.
