The SCOOP contains news, special events, and trips especially for seniors. This issue features special St. Patrick's Day events and a Fashion Show!

The Richard R. Clark Senior Center in La Plata will hold their annual St. Patrick's Day Party on Thursday, March 15, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. This year's theme, The Wearing of the Green, includes Irish entertainment by John O'Loughlin, and a dance performance by the Cloggers. Enjoy a great meal followed by Blarney Stone Bingo. Cost is $3, plus a generous lunch donation.

The Waldorf Senior Center's St. Patrick's Day event, featuring Indiana's Purdue University Varsity Glee Club, will be held Tuesday, March 13, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.! This Glee Club has performed on television; at presidential inaugurations; at Carnegie Hall, the Crystal Cathedral, and at Lincoln Center. A traditional Irish meal will be served at Noon with corned beef, cabbage, mashed potatoes, and glazed carrots prepared by Chefs Bruce and Bambi. A special Irish dessert prepared by Center staff follows the meal. Limited seating. Indian Head Senior Center will also be joining us for this special event. The cost is $7 each; or $3 without the meal. Table Reservation Deadline: March 7.

Waldorf Senior Center will also host the Spring Fever Fashion Show & Shop on Wednesday, March 28, from Noon-2:30 p.m. Check out the spring fashion line on our models strutting down the runway! Apparel is brought to us by TaylorMarie's mobile retail clothing store. Take this chance to see fashionable women's clothing and accessories from respected, high quality brands at low prices. Shop from over twenty racks of affordable up-to-date clothing. We look forward to having TaylorMarie's create an experience that goes beyond the clothing to a festive event that everyone will enjoy!
