This press release is designed to inform the public of our commitment to ensuring safety and enforcing the laws in Maryland.
Our message this week is do not leave the scene of any collision. If you are involved in a collision involving property damage or injury, per Maryland law, you must stay at the scene and provide the proper information to the police, the other person involved or the owner. Leaving the scene of any collision is not an option, you must stay and provide your information. That includes collisions with the jersey wall, guardrail or any state or privately owned structure. Leaving the scene of a collision will result in an arrest, fines, citations and/or possibly jail time. Leaving the scene of a fatal collision could result in a 10 year prison sentence as well. Our message is clear, do the right thing. Remain at the scene and provide your information. Our family’s lives depend on it.
