Our message this week is following too closely causes collisions and injury. We strongly urge everyone to maintain a safe distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front. A general rule is to maintain at least one full car length distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front for every 10 mph of speed. In other words, if you are traveling 60 mph, a good distance is six car lengths between your vehicle and the vehicle in front.
