Do you really think that this was a threat? This was one of those stupid off the cuff remarks that we all make. I know the D's say that everything said is a threat and they should be removed from congress for it, but then going and doing it yourself just lowers yourself to their level.

That's even worse. A freaking four-star General and former head of NSA and CIA...making "stupid off the cuff remarks"...on Twitter.

And yes, I definitely read that as a threat. It's pretty clear and I have no idea why you're trying to defend him (by saying he may just be completely unhinged and reckless with his public behavior).

But wait! There's more! This is how he tried to backpedal:

Because isn't that exactly what we want from our military Generals and NSA/CIA spooks?

How does this not alarm you?

I’m just going to put a pin in this one and bring it up every time Trump makes some stupid off the cuff comment, should be tomorrow sometime.

See, there you go again. In fact you DO bring it up every time Trump says anything that freaks you out. And had Trump said he wanted to kill an elected official you'd have been all over it.

But we're not talking about Trump in this thread. We're talking about General Michael Hayden, a former NSA and CIA director, wanting to kill a United States Senator and saying so on Twitter. Stop trying to make everything about Trump.

See there you go again, going all mother hen whenever says something even remotely against your boy. I just don’t freak out about much of anything and that’s pretty much the gist of my post. You see the other side saying something that you CAN be interpreted as a threat (if you squint real hard and turn your head sideways) that if someone you agreed with had said you’d get a chuckle from. Do you see this statement as a threat
“Donald Trump, on his social-media network, Truth Social, wrote that Mark Milley’s phone call to reassure China in the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, was “an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH.”
because the left said exactly the same as you, all hyperbolic about death threats.

Tuberville Responds to Calls He Should Be 'Removed From the Human Race'

“This morning my office was made aware of a statement made by General Michael Hayden calling for a politically motivated assassination. This statement is disgusting and it is repugnant to everything we believe in as Americans. Given General Hayden’s long career in Washington, he must have known that, by making such a statement, he was committing a serious crime. His own efforts today to reinterpret what he said are only a tacit admission of guilty," Tuberville said. "If we still have a nonpolitical justice system in this country, then General Hayden will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. My office has reported this incident to the Capitol Police and I expect that they will once again do an excellent job protecting members of Congress and bringing criminals to justice."

He also slammed Democrats for failing to condemn Hayden's remarks.

He's been waiting to use "intransigent" in a sentence for most of his career.

Oh, and talk about irony, there, Hayden; pot, kettle, black.

Wait, can we still use that expression in this day and age?

A thought just occurred to me - shocking, I know - which is: who does Hayden think he is? Hillary?

AGAIN, we are not talking about Trump in this thread. YOU are the one who brought him up in a desperate mission to "yabbut".

Also Trump is correct - back in the day treason WAS IN FACT punishable by death. Only a true believer would try to equate that with a member of the intelligence community saying a US Senator should be removed from the human race.

But that is neither here nor there because - once more - we are NOT talking about Trump in this thread. Do you have anything to say about the actual topic?

Actually I did in the my first post when I told you that you were acting hysterical for taking a post obviously made in jest and ascribing a villainous twist to it. The only reason I mentioned Trump is he's notorious for doing exactly the same thing and you poo pooing it. Would you like me to use a different example, I can do it easily Vraiblonde, Gilligan, Hijinx, myself... We've all made these types of statements about someone needing to be made room temperature, not a one of us would do the first thing towards making it a fact. It also makes sense to use as an example someone close to the stature of the person to which you are comparing. If I say General Hayden and Gilligan make some stupid statements the response would be "yeah, So?", but if I say Trump and Hayden make some stupid statements you notice and respond in some way or other.

So now you want to equate blather from randos on a small local forum to a declaration from a powerful government official made on Twitter.....

Why are you so hellbent on defending this man, even if you have to make yourself look foolish in the process? Is he your uncle or something? Is it that you just can't stand to go a minute without bitching about Trump?

This is just inexplicable to me. I'm not even going to try and pretend to understand it. There was exactly no reason for you to run in here all "Yabbut TRUMP!!!" and yet....you did.

Yeah randos from a local forum didn't help the argument which was the only reason for mentioning Trumps name at all. As for looking foolish, you should look in the mirror, you're kind of going off the deep end. Let's go back to my first post,
Do you really think that this was a threat? This was one of those stupid off the cuff remarks that we all make. I know the D's say that everything said is a threat and they should be removed from congress for it, but then going and doing it yourself just lowers yourself to their level.
see anything about Trump?, not a thing, this is just me telling you that you're looking for a threat that's not really there. It may look to you like I'm defending the guy, but really it's just me telling you quit acting like a psycho lefty saying everything is a threat.

Now do you think a former CIA director is going to actually threaten someone on Twitter? No he's not, he'd make a call and just get it done.

:lmao: Yeah yeah....

You mean except for the part where he just did?

Anyway, I'm done arguing with you. I will never understand you people's attitude.
