Tonight’s Mega Millions Jackpot Sets a World Record at $370 Million
Drawing to be held in Times Square in New York City
(Baltimore) – Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot has increased to $370 million, becoming the world’s largest jackpot in history. The previous record was set in 2000, with a jackpot that reached $363 million. Maryland’s largest jackpot to date was $183 million and was won by Baltimore County resident Bernadette Gietka in June 2003.
The Mega Millions drawing, which is normally held in Atlanta, Georgia, will take place tomorrow night in New York’s Times Square. Mega Millions drawings can be seen locally on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 pm on WBAL-TV, Channel 11. The multi-state Mega Millions game is played in 12 states, including: Maryland, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Washington, Texas and California.
