The Messiah and the 3 days and 3 nights timeframe of Matthew 12:40?

When responding to the Pharisees' request for a sign from the Messiah, why do you suppose He made the specific point that He would be in the heart of the earth for 3 days and 3 nights? Is there something meaningful about that time period?

Number of views is sometimes meaningless. It can include your OWN view, or the same person many times, or a bot. Or even someone searching on the web, and not even registering, which is VERY common.

Anyway - Jesus is of course, illustrating that it was the same as Jonah, who was considered a prophet, even though among most people, they just know the fish story.

HOWEVER - it was Jewish traditional belief that the soul remained with the body for three days and three nights - so that if Jesus was dead that long, he was most certainly dead. If he rose prior to that, it would seem less a miracle.

It's also why Lazarus' rising from the dead was miraculous, because HE was dead for four days (or at least, had been entombed that long).
