The New World is a movie I would like to see. Hopefully it will spark some interest on the true history of our country. Although I'm sure the truth will be tainted by hollywood for a better storyline. But eh, I still would like to see it.

Looks awesome! Did you watch the "Into the West" series? That brought out some things the movies generally skip over too.

Regretfully I didnt get to see all of them. Just the last couple ones including the one which had the massacre at Wounded Knee. That series and Band of Brothers are on my list to watch.

Oh well. And whether she got with Smith is up for history revision. The people down at Historic Jamestown now say that Smith and Pocahontas were just friends. :rolleyes:

We were never taught in school that they had a relationship, and when the Disney movie came out we were told it was inaccurate. Doesn't really matter though, she married someone else. :shrug:

We went down to Jamestown last summer. It was kind of funny to hear and read the "new" explanations regarding the nature of their relationship. PC-ism has even overtaken 400 year-old history. I guess next we'll be hearing that Priscilla and Elvis were just friends.
