I guess you haven't ended up under a horse on the ground enough yet
I envy your youth....or maybe i'm just too old.

I have probably fallen off more than most people. I have broken my clavicle in 4 places, my wrist, my shoulder, separated & cracked my other shoulder, broken 3 ribs, my finger, and my nose,(most on separate occasions). I still get back on. Every time I have fallen off I have become a better rider. I have probably fallen or been fallen on over 100 times. I have been riding my whole life and showing since I was 3. I am always working with green horses and horses with personality issues. Over the years I have learned to fall off correctly most of the time and not hurt myself. A horse tripped, fell down, and stepped on my arm a few weeks ago. I don't know if it is dumb or brave, but I love to ride. I must admit that these days I have a lot more to loose and the ground does seem harder! :lmao:

:barf: Your gonna die.... :dead: I will call 911 for ya....
Yea I have been having problems with my knees. Very very gritty. Dr wants to do ortho on them. Just can't quit riding long enough to do it. :lmao: Plus 20+years of softball, working/training horses. I also have a bulging disk and tear in my lower back. Finally got smart about 10yrs ago and got a desk job. That causes arse spread though...

:killingme we got Jacob by default almost 2 years ago when we were boarding at glen mary farm. It's a very long story... he came up lame and we started taking care of him. He had a HUGE abcess in his left front hoof, the owners opted to give him to us. It took well over a year and special made boots to get him over it. he had several chunks of his hoof cut out so they wouldn't rip off. His hoof is 8in X 8in, they couldn't shoe it because the void from the abcess was just too big and had nothing to hold a nail. As for age I think he's around 11 but 2baymares may be able to answer that better as she was there when he came to the farm orginally. He had started back in training just as WP in Sept and is doing good. He's a completely different horse from when we first started taking care of him! He's still overweight though!

Loper, you guys did a great job with Jacob. He was desperate need of a loving home and you gave it to him. :huggy:
As for Jacob's age ... I forget ... but Angies has all the old records now so give her a call. You take excellent care of your herd. :yay:

Ooops, Elaine wasn't riding Peanut at Farm Tour. I did though. I did the jumping demonstration with him out in her front field. :) We even made it into the newspaper. :) Elaine did a musical freestyle on her horse, Java.

Oh! And I think I've seen your cigar box purses at "Just One More", right? They're very nice!! And are great gifts!

Thank You :howdy:

Ooops is right.. my bad.. Java is the big bay, right? I have a terrible memory. I completely missed your jumping, but I do remember seeing your lovely horse and being impressed with his beauty and presence. And his 3 foot long mane!!

If you have ever jumped out of a plane it is the same concept. Tuck your arms and legs in, melt into the ground, and roll like an egg away from the horse and hope the horse misses you! :jameo:

Hehe, yup, Java is the boy with the big butt. :) This is actually a picture of Java and Elaine from the same day as the Farm Tour. We both rode in a dressage schooling show that morning. :) Java is so cute.

Tee hee, and then just for fun here's another of Peanut. This was at the 2005 Chapter Challenge. It was my second dressage show and first time riding Training 3 & 4. We got a 62.something% from Betty Thorpe and tied for second with out OWN team member, Judy Whyte (on the grey mare on the right). Also on our team were Mary Russell on Image and Pam Owens with Gracie.

He is SO handsome - Peanut

I can't wait to do dressage shows. I might be ready by summer, but we are working on the canter collection, and him relaxing.
