The lineage of the Messiah reads like a rogue's gallery, scandal and sin-ridden as they come. His message and the things He did were often gross violations of societal norms of the day. He hung out with whores and crooks and blue-collar workers. He made an art form out of making the politicians look stupid. He was NOT into being politically correct.

His followers then are like many of His followers now: sinners and criminals, misfits. Rejects. I'll accept that label and consider it to be a good sign.
