Jen Psaki refuses to apologize for White House’s debunked claim about Border Patrol ‘whipping’ migrants

The agents have been cleared of wrongdoing but remain on desk duty

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Monday refused to apologize for the White House’s now-debunked claim that Border Patrol agents were whipping Haitian migrants during a confrontation near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Images emerged in September of Border Patrol agents in Del Rio, Texas, showing agents on horseback blocking migrants from entering the U.S. and, in one case, grabbing onto a migrant’s shirt.

Many Democrats and media outlets falsely described the agents’ long reins, which they use to control their horses, as "whips."

Psaki at the time slammed what she called "brutal and inappropriate" behavior by Border Patrol agents.

"We understand and agree that this has been an incredibly heart-wrenching issue," Psaki said. "We’ve watched the photos of Haitians gathering under a bridge, many with families, and the horrific video of the CBP officers on horses using brutal and inappropriate measures against innocent people."

I can recall examples of just about every past administration having the humility to admit when they've made a mistake, at least at this low a level.

I suppose there are people who believe apologies are a sign of weakness, proof that you make mistakes and that you probably make lots of OTHER ones as well. I think there are a LOT of people who trust a leader LESS when he cannot issue an apology for an OBVIOUS ERROR, because it means he's either a self-righteous SOB or he couldn't care less.

This isn't about this incident, this is about the White House and the democrats opening the Border to anyone and anything that wants to come across.
It's about doing whatever they can to make it difficult for the Border Patrol to do their jobs.
It's about coercion of employees so they will avoid doing what Americans pay them to do.

Maybe he should have a beer summit with them all.
