The mostly ignored but massive part of the Obama legacy is the subsequent rise of Republican power, gains in every level of government.

That legacy continues today in the form of the current shutdown, where we see Dems having to defend the unaffordabality of Obamacare and the notion of free healthcare for illegal's.

Ok, I get that. The democrat party has gone way left. Whenever any party drifts to the radical part of their spectrum they are in danger of being voted out. They will always have a 30% base, as will the opposition. The further you drift into the radical end of your party, the less of the 40% independents you will have on your side.

Nothing to negotiate. The CR isn't appropriations it is continued spending at already approved levels.

The House has passed all 12 appropriation bills out of committee, where those are first NEGOTIATED. Of the 12, a couple/few passed the floor, those were NEGOTIATED/debated again by the entire House. The purpose of the CR is solely to give time to get the process done on the others while letting the government run.

Failure of the Senate to pass the CR is nothing more than an attempt to subvert the process even when there have been numerous CRs passed like what has been the norm in the past. Schumer owns this regardless of how it is being spun.

This is what they shut down all about. Dems know the voters won't tolerate the true cost of Obamacare.

The American Rescue Plan of 21' lifted the cap on income qualification and increased the insurance welfare amount. That welfare is about to run out.

Caving to covid demands was a huge mistake on our part. The Democrats saw that and now think they can muscle us into submission. And a certain part of the populace will cower and obey, but the rest of us are like, "MFer, you better step back."

When I do my annual health insurance plan it shows what it would cost per month, $500 or whatever, and what my "credit" is to bring it down to $50/mo. This is the same catastrophic plan, high deductible, no bells and whistles, that cost me $50/mo BEFORE Obamacare.
