The Tree of Life

Revelation 22:1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
Here's the link to the commentary.

Back in the days of Eden, God wanted to walk in the Garden and talk with His creations. He wanted Adam to name all the critters as they discussed the fine points of being a human. That way God could understand what it's like to be human.
God gave Adam a woman to help him out. God watched the relationship grow.
And then... Adam and Eve found the tree of "knowledge". Adam and Eve then "knew" what they were doing was wrong. They even tried to cover it up [with leaves... get my drift?].
God said... "Boy I'm glad they didn't get hold of the 'Tree of Life'".
If Adam and Eve had eaten from the "Tree of Life" they would have lived forever. They would have been sinning all over the place... and they wouldn't "know" what they were doing wrong.... and they would live... sinning all over the place forever.
So.... now... John can see the real "Tree of Life". John can see Eden!
My Bible calls this chapter "Eden Restored".
:coffee:
On a side note... the Book of Mormon has a "Tree of Life" too. The fruit glows.
