Matthew 13:44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
47 “Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. 48 When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. 49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous 50 and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
51 “Have you understood all these things?” Jesus asked.
“Yes,” they replied.
52 He said to them, “Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”
Now remember... Matthew, the author of this Gospel, was a tax collector. He knew the value of things and where people were likely to hide valuables. When the tax collector is on the way.... common people would hide their valuables. Even today, watch the stock market... people sell off their stock right before they have to declare their income. They claim losses or lack of ownership to avoid the taxes on it. In the examples here... that's what's going on.There is no body or no thing more valuable than God to a Christian!
Jesus says.... those who were preaching the Old Testament were only showing off the "Old God".... the God who gave us the 10 Commandments so we would know how to be civil. Jesus says the preachers who really are Christians.... will bring out the New Testament as well... and teach Love, Peace, and Hope.
A little while ago... someone posted that "Jesus gonna make you rich". That's what verse 52 is about.
Have you heard about the Tuna Crisis? Back some time ago... there was a big deal about dolphins being caught in the tuna nets. Now it's ok to cook up tuna and make a sandwich out of it.... but chopping up "Flipper" America's favorite dolphin.... well, it took away the American appetite. So, they started checking the nets and making sure the tuna catch was dolphin free. The dolphins, though, were thrown back to sea. That's not going to happen in the end times.
Jesus says.... All humans will be scooped up. Christians will be picked out and taken to Heaven. CINOs will be thrown into Hell with the other non-believers. God knows the difference and the Angels have been trained. CINOs will be "gnashing" their teeth... probably preaching their tired lies right up until they realize where they are and fighting everyone claiming a huge mistake has been made. They will claim to have all the money and power they need to change the Gospels to suit their needs.... so, they will claim God has to accept them.... they paid their tithes.... so they own a space in Heaven.
There is nothing or nobody more valuable than God.
