The Vintage Source

Okay, what's the deal with this place? EVERYONE (well, mostly everyone) I know goes to the Vintage Source. Perhaps it's because I'm no decorator, but do I need to make the trip? I see they have a vendor fair this weekend. Is it going to be Pampered Chef tables and Avon, or is there anything different worth seeing?

It's vendors who sell antiques, repurposed furniture, vintage items etc. I love going but it's always window shopping for me. I inevitably fall in love with something way out of my price range and I'd have no room for it anyways, lol.

Here's their site : http://thevintagesource.net/

They can have great stuff at great prices. The only catch is to buy something you have your eye on you need to arrive early, before they open. When you get in the store you hope you can grab the tag of the item you want before someone else does. The person with the tag is allowed a bit of time to walk around contemplating their purchase. It can be fun, kinda like a hunt. Lol!

I had been trying to get a gossip bench for forever and a day and kept staking the Vintage Source out, and I found the whole place to be great fun. Kind of like a small flea market atmosphere. And there was usually someone selling food and someone selling produce, so it felt like I got lot knocked out in one location. I found things I couldn't afford, and found things I could, and I got some great ideas on some fix-er-ups and repurposing things in ways I normally don't think of.

If you like to see nice old furniture that has been ruined because its been painted in the name of "style", then this place is for you!

Unless you are seriously into antique or just old furniture that has already been refinished for you - AND you want to pay an outrageously high price for it, than NO. Don't make a special trip there. I spent a few months trying to plan my trip there, because they are only open one weekend a month, so I had a great deal of anticipation built up. I personally was very disappointed. The place is small, and did not impress me at all. Not to mention the prices were way to high.

Now maybe I just picked a bad time to go, but I seriously doubt I will ever bother going back.
