These Dogs Searching for Foster Homes!!!

Help "Invisible Dogs"
The following dogs are in desperate need of foster homes until they can find their forever homes:

Tank - Pit Bull Mix - Tank is looking for love.... He came from Baltimore to St. Mary's county and thought he had found it in a new safe home. Unfortunately it didn't work out. Tank seems to maybe be a little resistant to training, or maybe he just needs some different training methods.

Tank is currently being boarded and with the summer season coming up (plus it's better for them to be in a home environment) we really need someone to volunteer to foster this guy and show him what living in a home really is.
------
These two boys (Pete and Pablo) were pulled out of TCAS on the day they were supposed to die. They originally came from PG Animal Control and were adopted to someone down in one of our 3 counties. The owner stopped returning calls and it looks like they didn't care if these two boys died or not. They are 11 month old American Bulldog mix brothers, both are carefree and happy and with training in manners and leash walking will become wonderful companions. (I will post their pictures in a bit, can't seem to find them right now....) These boys are also being boarded and being in a home environment keeps them happier and more adoptable!
-----
The next one is Honey (she will actually answer to anything). Honey is currently in a local shelter waiting on us to find a foster home to put her in. Honey was picked up when the "temporary" guardian called (APRIL 2ND 2008)and said she thought the dog was dying. When ACO showed up and found this girl the unfolding story was one of horror. The ladies son had dropped this dog off in December of 2007, the lady had NEVER fed her, and seems to think the son might have come by and fed it one time. (the lady told the son she was physically unable to care for the dog, when ACO can track down the son he will be charged) It's obvious that Honey has a WILL to live, surviving in the cold of winter w/no food and no water, but her fight is still not over.. She is also positive for Lyme disease and undergoing treatment, but she is also heartworm positive. Honey is very well crate trained and doesn't have any accidents. She doesn't do well with female dogs and they don't think she should live with cats, but hasn't displayed any issues with male dogs or with puppies. Honey is going to need a special foster home, one that can show her the good side of life (which she has seen since being found, other than being back in the shelter due to her first foster home having an accident), one that can shower her with love and bring out her confidence, but also one that is willing to keep her through her heartworm treatment.
------
Second Hope Rescue is responsible for all vetting on these and any other animals that our fosters care for. Some foster home's put out their own money for whatever is needed (i.e. heartworm pills, and flea and tick meds), but we are more than happy/willing to do that for our foster homes as well as provide food.

If you have the room in your heart and home, please think about fostering one of these deserving dogs!

Lacie Girl

My BFF is a Pit Bull!
I would take one for you krazd kat but one the Red Amstaff I adopted out 3 weeks ago is coming back. If I can rehome her quickly, I will take one of these guys.

I'm sorry to hear the one is coming back, I hate when that happens! If we can do anything to help (post her online.... or bring her to SMAWLs event on Saturday or Pepper's on Sunday...)

That would be awesome if you could take one of these guys, it's wonderful that the kennels will work with us, but they do so much better in a home!

thanks again and let me know if we can help w/anything,
Kathy
