Authorities are now charging Gary Hilton, the man who was taken into custody Friday, with violently attacking and kidnapping Meredith Emerson as she was hiking in the North Georgia mountains.

The arrest warrant affidavit describes some of the evidence investigators say they have collected so far against Gary Hilton. Its evidence that includes what they believe Hilton had thrown into a dumpster, in Cumming, in Forsyth County including Meredith Emerson's billfold and drivers license, and UGA student ID, her fleece clothing covered in blood, and part of the rear seat belt from Hilton's van, which had been cut out of the van, and it was covered in blood.

Investigators said when they found Hilton outside a DeKalb County convenience store Friday night, he was trying to vacuum the inside of his van and wash it with bleach.

Investigators said they have photos of Hilton at an ATM in Canton, trying to use Meredith's credit card.

I have strongly believed that Meredith Emerson was murdered ever since the news was released that Ella's leash and Meredith's mittens were found discarded along the trail. When news broke that her dog, Hilton, and other evidence had been recovered from a dumpster all in the same area, that, to me, was the sign that all but the dimmest of hope could possibly remain.

To the family and friends and loved ones of Meredith Emerson, my heart goes out to you and I offer you my deepest sympathies, my most heartfelt condolences.

Yes, of course you are correct. But in this county where the criminal has more rights than the victim the investigators cannot ask him questions in the right tone.(They cannot touch a hair on his little head.)

He is guilty as sin and they should be cutting off a piece of him little by little until he gives up the location of the body. But here in the USA you have the ACLU and other fine organizations to protect the rights of the fine Mr. Hilton, the Gitmo Terrorists, and all the other thug criminals.

This country is fast becoming a trash heap due to the liberal idiots who rant about rights, profiling, rehabilitation, etc...

I am sure Mr. Hilton will have his tax payer supplied defense attorney, a long drawn out trial, the required hours of sunlight, books, food, medical care, and don't forget cable T.V. that we taxpayers need to supply in order to ensure Mr. Hilton's rights.

What should happen is that Mr. Hilton be persuaded to show where the body is and immediately afterward his sorry life extinguished with out the ridiculous cost of the trial to the taxpayers.

A 10 cent bullet is much cheaper and more beneficial to society in the long run.
