Got out and started weeding the garden, thought I'd get a big early start on it this year. Looks like the garden got a head start on me. I already have daffys up 2" with flower pods and the iris are getting tall fast.

Went to start the tractor, and the key won't turn. I had an issue last season when a wasp decided it was a good place to build a nest and plugged up the key slot. Cleaned it out but it never really worked right. Now it looks like the pins are frozen. Soaked it in WD-40 for a while, but no luck, so off to Carrolls. Part not in stock, no surprise there, won't be in until at least next Wen. So, back to weeding and mulching.

Oh yeah. Threw some fresh tomato seeds in a glass of water a few days ago, a lot of them have tails already.

I usually don't get to it until the flower stalks are too tall to work around. Today was a good day to get some of it done. Got a huge portion weeded before I ran out of mulch and steam.

And to add insult to injury... finally got the tractor key to work. Had the battery on charge overnight. Turn the key.... nuttin. Battery is dead.

Condo life is looking better and better every spring and fall.

I bought a bunch of herbs. We keep them in pots on the deck. The basil took a nose dive when the temps dipped a few weeks ago. Before that, it was the most robust plant we had. The only ones I've used so far are the basil and parsley. I need to do a better job of incorporating the rest of the fresh herbs into recipes.

I don't have any mint. When I had my home, I planted mint and it took over. The rest of the line up is cilantro, chives, tarragon, oregano, thyme & rosemary.

I haven't decided if I want to do plants in the yard this spring. I might get a wild hair and think I want to go all out at the local garden center.

Yeah, you learn quickly to keep the mint in a pot or planter.
My ex planted some chocolate mint around the garden edge by the green house. After 20 years of mowing it down, it can still smell it when I mow it down. Once planted, it's there to stay.

Put the battery on heavy charge, but it just won't recover. :ohwell: Looked for a replacement, and got sticker shock. In-stock prices range from $130-$200 for a Group 51 battery. :yikes: Online prices weren't any better, but I did find one at Lowes for $90, but I had to order it. 2 weeks.

And baby, it's cold outside... I don't mind a bit of cold weather, but that wind makes it biting. Looking forward to the warmup in a few days.

Check Ridge Hardware. I found a battery for my John Deere D130 there. Good price too.

Don't do the veggies or herbs anymore. Mostly puttin' in flars so the SO can get the flutterbies & hummingbirds

Like everything else, batteries have gone up in price. I will have to check our mower batteries to see what price we are now.

FWIW - if we don't have the battery you are looking for in stock, we can usually have it in a day or 2. 1 week max.
