Just sneakin' around....
Julie Andrews version was better than Babba Streisand's. (when the dog bites, when the bee stings etc...)
We had a version back in the 60s that was a lot better. I don't remember most of it, save one line:
"Sugar in gas tanks and scratches on fenders...
These are a few of my favortite things.."

happy to be living
I love waking up each and every morning.
I love sitting in my comfy leather chair watching the hummingbirds and other birds and squirrels that I feed. And the family of flying squirrels that come down the poplar tree at night to feast on bark butter.
I love the flowers that bloom and thrive under my care.
I love all of my cats and dog. They all have such distinct personalities.
I love my friends and (most of) my family. I always like hearing about their successes and am sad when things are not going well.
I love the freedom of being a 63 YO white American female.
I love and appreciate having food in the freezer, running water, electricity and the ability to pay for conveniences not everyone in the world has.
I love that I have met a lot of awesome people through these forums. And many of you are friends!

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts and hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favourite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favourite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets, and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Back pains, confused brains, and no fear of sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, when the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.
