This week the TSA changed its policy at several airports regarding security.
At various airports, one will no longer need to show a valid boarding pass to pass through security gates.

The way it was explained to me, you still show your RealId, and their display brings up the boarding pass info. So you are in effect still "showing" a boarding pass
