This kind of stuff really affects me...I saw the story the other day about hatcheries grinding up male chicks and I cried for at least an hour..at work...like an idiot. But the thought of poor animals being abused when they don't have any recourse just makes me kinda sick...pooor kitty :(

I read about this the other day, there is just so much of this going on now a days and the worst thing is when they do catch the people who have done it, its kids who are like 15 or 16. I mean honestly you have got to be messed up in the head to do something like that. Do a search on the internet about animal cruelty and it's hard to believe. In New York I believe this 17 year old girl broke into her friends apartment and saw her little kitten. She turned the oven up on high heat and burned it to death. They caught her and she's probably going to get a slap on the wrist. I mean even if you don't like cats, thats still terrible. The laws against animal cruelty are not strict enough I think. They get a $500 fine, if that. I read and hear about it, and it just makes me so angry, I look at my cats and wonder how someone could be so terrible as to hurt a cat or dog like that. Just take a look at this website and see what I mean

No, it doesn't break my heart.

If they were so damn concerned about their damn cat they'd keep it in their house, and not let it wander the neighborhood.

MAYBE some neighbor got tired of paw prints on their car in the morning, or MAYBE they caught the cat taking a dump in their pool.

You want to love your cat, fine, that's your right, but keep them in your house and yard.

It wasn't the cat's fault that it was outside.

You go to jail for life for shooting the owner in the head.

if people were were getting tired of the cat they could have easily called animal control and got a trap and took it to the pound. instead of shooting it with a bow and making it suffer. it was probably some sick individual who just wanted to laugh about it and see something suffer, a future murderer or rapist. and our judicial system is so backwards if you kill someone all you gotta do is plead insanity it seems and get away with a short sentence. i had dogs come in to my yard and slaughter my pet rabbits when i was 6 years old, my dad could have shot the dogs right there, but he didn't he found out where the owner lived.

WOW, wonder what your dad would have done if they had slaughtered you instead?

What would you rather they shoot the cat with? It doesn't mention the neighborhood, but I'm assuming a nighborhood with houses in close proximity, playgrounds, people walking and driving.. You think he should have got out the 7mm Remington Mag so it would be more humane to the cat?

Future murderer or rapist?? Really? Is that REALLY what you believe?? Someone gets tired of animals in his yard.. (emphasis on ANIMALS) and for the safety of his neighbors he gets out a bow instead of a highpowered rifle. Apparently he's not that great a shot (though he did hit the cat in the head).

Call Animal Control?? WHY? Why take up their valuable time? Like I said, if the owners were so concerned about their cat, they should have kept it in their house.

What did he do then?

I guess I should have said that part, the lady got an attitude with my Dad so he called the cops and told them what her dogs did and she had to give us like $150 dollars because I guess rabbits are considered a form of farm/livestock animal. But it wasn't the money, we came home from a field trip and I saw my rabbits, and the baby rabbits strewn about my yard. That tramautized me I couldn't even stand to be around dogs after that for a while. But...it wasn't the dogs fault she let her dogs run loose, and thats what dogs do sometimes, they go after small animals

Cool. I guess if any of the neighbor's kids ever wander into my yard I'll shoot them. :yahoo:
