I wanted to share.....

Dear Customers,

Recently, one of my customers from Holly & Mikey’s litter of ‘06 notified me of an adverse reaction her dog had to the drug Rimadyl. This greatly concerned me, so I did some research on the web. I was surprised to learn of the problems documented with the use of this, and several other popularly prescribed medications for dogs. Please review the enclosed links, and be an informed pet owner. Always ask your vet for information regarding dangers and side effects to the drug he is prescribing. Ask for the information sheet or pamphlet that should accompany the drug when it is prescribed. (Humans get these with our prescriptions…why don’t pets?)

Rimadyl is generally prescribed as a pain medication for arthritic dogs, but in this case was prescribed for her dog after his neutering. Also, according to the articles, if your vet recommends a blood test prior to the prescribing of any drug, do not decline it. It is an investment well worth it for the protection of your dog.
