Dear jjcmom,
The answer to your question is both yes and no. With the first two books I ran into a buzzsaw. I was accused of infringing on the Godiah Spray plantation, a State fiction (based in turn on "Cole's World" a serious book by Lois Carr on plantation life in the 1660s in Maryland) created by Historic St. Mary's City for interpretive, living history purposes. In any event I found myself in a bureaucratic half-nelson, etc., etc. Ugh!
So I decided to write all of the 12 HOGWASH books as chapters in one book, called
"The Hoe & the Hearth: A true depiction of how two orphaned children managed
Henry's Hunch, their father's plantation in the Province of Maryland c. 1664" The
book should be out by June of this year. To avoid any problems Henry's Hunch is a
virtual plantation on a virtual St. Anselm's creek off the Potomac River, etc.
In the meantime if you know of anyone who would like copies (for free) of the first
two HOGWASH books, let me know.
Henry
